DESCRIPTION:ETE2025 provides a variety of activities designed specifically for STEM teachers and educators. The conference features hands-on workshops that showcase innovative teaching strategies and activities\, offering participants practical and cutting-edge approaches to enhance their educational practices. \nIn addition\, the Teachers’ Day includes oral presentations that delve into the latest trends and insights from research\, practice\, and policy\, providing valuable updates and knowledge in the field. SUMMARY:ICSE Academy 2nd Policy Round Table
DESCRIPTION:The 2nd online policy round table for the ICSE Teacher Academy project will take place on May 13th from 11am – 12:30 pm (CET).  The theme of the round table is Evidence based STEM teaching: linking to results from international studies\, implications for STEM education\, with an emphasis on gender inclusive STEM education. DESCRIPTION:The project GEM Consortium would like to kindly invite all interested parties to participate in the GEM Network Kick-Off meeting\, taking place: November 11\, 2 – 5:30 p.m. (UTC/GMT+1) virtually: \nhttps://zoom.us/j/98338946823?pwd=QmJFT2FTU0JORTcwOWhUbWNhREJUUT09 \nAs a member of the Europe-wide network you will on the one hand be sensitised to gender-equitable STEM education\, receive information on relevant gender topics (deficits in STEM/digital education\, drop-out rates of girls\, roles and barriers of girls\, serious upcoming lack of digital skills\, loss of innovation capacity for Europe etc.). On the other hand\, you will help shaping the network with your contributions and become active yourself: share your experiences\, best practices and knowledge\, information on equal opportunities for girls in STEM/ICT\, implement a variety of awareness-raising activities in society. \nOn November 11 we would like to inform you about the GEM project and the role of the GEM Network\, as well as offer you to take a closer look on best practices in creating good learning environments at the example of Slovakia. You will have a chance to discuss interesting questions arising from the speaker’s presentations. Together with stakeholders from around Europe you will have a chance to think about other actions and activities that can inspire and support girls on their journey towards STEM and ICT professions. \nPlease find a detailed agenda and information on meeting speakers: \nSharing best practices and personal stories\n2 – 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Dita Kreuz (project GEM manager) and Mrs. Sona Ceretkova: Welcome and GEM project introduction\, National GEM Team background: example Slovakia \n2:30 – 3 p.m. Mrs. Ľubica Rozborova\, RISOTO (Respectful Inclusion\, Social Opportunity\, Tolerance; NGO)\, Bratislava \nMrs. Rozborova is CEO of RISOTO\, which conducts audits\, consults\, designs processes\, and trains employees and management to help the company get on the path to building a truly inclusive organization. The RISOTO also design and manage externally funded projects delivering social value. The primary areas of expertise include Human Rights\, Gender Equality\, Arts and Culture\, Green Innovations\, Education\, and Social Entrepreneurship. \nDiscussion in groups on gender equality. \n3:15 – 4:15 p.m. Mrs. Zuzana Staňáková\, Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR)\, Bratislava \nMrs. Staňáková works in the CVTI SR in the department of international projects and currently also in the position of a contact person for gender equality. CVTI SR is currently working on creating a system of support for research institutions and universities with the integration of Gender Equality into research and innovation.  \nand prof. Dr. Ing. Jana Žiarovská\, PhD.\, Slovak Agricultural University (SPU) in Nitra. \nProfessor Žiarovská will share her personal story as successful woman in science and research in genetics and molecular biology and her carrier as the university professor. \nDiscussion in groups on questions dealing with the institutional strategies towards to gender equality and female scientists support. \n4:30 – 5:00 p.m. Mrs. Petra Kotuliaková\, NGO “Aj Ty v IT” (You in IT)\, Bratislava \nMrs. Kotuliaková is CEO of Aj Ty v IT\, the civic association “Aj Ty v IT” was established in 2012. At a time when the number of girls at IT faculties of universities fluctuated for a long time between 3% – 5% of the total number of students of these university programs in Slovakia.
