On the other hand\, you will help shaping the network with your contributions and become active yourself: share your experiences\, best practices and knowledge\, information on equal opportunities for girls in STEM/ICT\, implement a variety of awareness-raising activities in society. \nOn November 11 we would like to inform you about the GEM project and the role of the GEM Network\, as well as offer you to take a closer look on best practices in creating good learning environments at the example of Slovakia. You will have a chance to discuss interesting questions arising from the speaker’s presentations. The RISOTO also design and manage externally funded projects delivering social value. CVTI SR is currently working on creating a system of support for research institutions and universities with the integration of Gender Equality into research and innovation.  \nand prof. Dr. Ing. Jana Žiarovská\, PhD.\, Slovak Agricultural University (SPU) in Nitra. \nProfessor Žiarovská will share her personal story as successful woman in science and research in genetics and molecular biology and her carrier as the university professor. \nDiscussion in groups on questions dealing with the institutional strategies towards to gender equality and female scientists support. \n4:30 – 5:00 p.m. Mrs. Petra Kotuliaková\, NGO “Aj Ty v IT” (You in IT)\, Bratislava \nMrs. Kotuliaková is CEO of Aj Ty v IT\, the civic association “Aj Ty v IT” was established in 2012. At a time when the number of girls at IT faculties of universities fluctuated for a long time between 3% – 5% of the total number of students of these university programs in Slovakia. The summer school is taking place for multiple groups in three consecutive weeks starting in the middle of June 2021. \nThe purpose of the summer school is to inspire young girls in technology\, to give technical confidence and in the long term to contribute to a well thought out high school choice. DESCRIPTION:GEM Girlsclub WIN \n(‘Wiskunde\, Informatica\, Natuurkunde’ -> Mathematics\, Computer Science\, Physics) \n  \nUtrecht University has shifted from a regular summer school programme for Dutch girls to a yearlong programme of Girlsclub-days\, due to the Corona Pandemic. The programme is set for 24 girls on each day between 14 and 15 years old and participants will get to know young female scientists who are already established in the field and young women just entering the fields of computer science\, mathematics\, and physics. DESCRIPTION:Athens Summer School 2021 \nThis 3-day online summer school targeting girls 13-15 years old will take place online from 5-7 July 2021. DESCRIPTION:Empowering Girls to Understand their Role in STEM \n  \nThe summer school for girls (age 12-14) from schools across Cyprus will take place June 22-25\, 2021 in Nicosia. \nGirls will be empowered to understand the role of STEM\, and especially the entrepreneurial potential of the field. Female scientists\, science communicators and educators have worked together to develop interactive activities around the topic of “Colours”. The girls will have the opportunity to learn about colours and their importance from the perspective of science\, mathematics\, technology\, engineering and the arts and will collaborate on producing final products and present them. They also get to work with female scientists\, do a field trip to an environmental centre and prepare their own digital advertisements to promote their products. \n

DESCRIPTION:The summer school in Freiburg will take place from July 19th to July 22nd as a hybrid summer school – certain activities will be conducted during the morning in virtual spaces with online meetings and in presence at the University of Education in Freiburg during the afternoon. Thereby the participants will be split into groups of three to five with one assigned female mentor. The camp offers activities centered around STEM and ICT subjects and aim to increase the interest of the participating girls aged 12 -19. The programme will include activities with links to real life problems in which the girls can apply their STEM knowledge and acquire new concepts in a hands-on and collaborative environment.
