Examples of Learning Units

Please find descriptions of exemplary learning units that include information on activity background, necessary input for learners and the way hands-on activities can be implemented. Necessary materials, the most appropriate age of learners and school subjects you might implement this activity in are identified as well.

Promoting Female STEM Role Models

The presence of relatable female STEM role models is important for girls to be able to identify oneself with STEM experts and eventually choose a profession in this field, yet, nowadays hardly anyone can name other female scientist than Marie Curie that has made a big contribution to the STEM world, made a discovery or an invention. Below please find some examples of brilliant STEM females and their discoveries. Regardless if you are organizing STEM out-of-school activities yourself, you are a parent, a teacher or you have other ways of working with youngsters, please feel free to use the pre-prepared information below to put female scientists in the spotlight.

Networking

In this section you can download the GirlEmpowerment Network Agenda that includes a roadmap of meaningful activities to engage in on local, regional, national as well as international level to support girls in STEM studies and careers. In the report you can read about our network-establishing strategies and best practices.
