ICSE Science Factory at the MULTIPLIERS Final Dissemination Event
by Laura Wanckel
On 29 October, the ICSE Science Factory was proudly represented at the final dissemination event of the Horizon 2020 project MULTIPLIERS, which took place at the LVR-Landes-Museum in Bonn. The event, hosted by the University of Bonn and coordinated by Annette Scheersoi, brought together various Open Schooling stakeholders and created a vibrant platform for sharing experiences and presenting innovative educational approaches.
.
The afternoon began with an engaging marketplace session, during which MULTIPLIERS project partners presented their work on various sustainability challenges. Topics included antimicrobial resistance, air pollution, and forest conservation, highlighting the issues tackled through collaborative open science communities.
During the poster session, Laura Wanckel from ICSE had the pleasure of presenting our Horizon Europe Open Schooling project, the ICSE Science Factory, to participants and other Open Schooling stakeholders. It was an excellent opportunity to share insights from our ongoing work, learn from others, and strengthen our network within the Open Schooling ecosystem. Discussions highlighted the importance of bridging schools with universities, NGOs, and industry partners to promote more holistic and engaging science education.
.
A standout feature of the event was the presentation by students acting as “knowledge multipliers,” demonstrating the real-world impact of Open Schooling initiatives.
Congratulations to the entire MULTIPLIERS team for organising such a well-rounded and inspiring event. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and building on the momentum created by this event to advance the cause of Open Science and STEM education.
Shaping STEM education across Europe
The ICSE Science Factory project marks a pivotal first step in shaping STEM education across Europe, focusing on health, sustainability, and digitalization. Engaging students with practical initiatives like Lighthouse Activities, Open Schooling Projects, and Career Talks, aims to inspire action for a sustainable future and promote STEM careers, especially among women. As this innovative approach continues across Croatia, Cyprus, Germany, Portugal, and Turkey, the project’s impact on education and global challenges looks promising. Together we pave the way to discovery and enable the next generation to innovate beyond the limits of today’s knowledge and find solutions for a future worth living.
Stay connected with ICSE for updates on our journey to enrich STEM education and follow our ICSE channels for more information!
