European ICSE Science Factory Conference Held in Istanbul

The European ICSE Science Factory Conference

by Gökhan Kaya

The European ICSE Science Factory Conference was successfully held on 8–9 November 2025 in Istanbul as part of the 6th International STEM Education Conference (STEM PD 2025). The conference brought together teachers, teacher educators, researchers, policymakers, and representatives from industry and civil society to explore open schooling approaches in the context of digitalisation, health, and sustainability.

The conference featured keynote lectures, panel discussions, interactive workshops, oral presentations, and the STEM Expo & Materials Market, providing a rich platform for exchange across research, practice, and policy. A strong emphasis was placed on community engagement, lighthouse activities, and open schooling practices, demonstrating how schools, universities, and local stakeholders can collaborate to address real-world challenges through STEM education.

Participants from multiple European countries contributed to discussions on innovative pedagogical approaches, professional development, teacher mobility, and sustainable STEM practices. The event also strengthened collaboration within the ICSE Science Factory consortium and supported the dissemination and exploitation of project outcomes at both national and European levels.
