ICSE’s Quarterly Problem – Learning Opportunities for Social Participation

Current societal problems such as climate change or the Covid pandemic are increasingly putting topics related to mathematics and science at the center of public discussions. To participate in these discussions, people need the skills and knowledge to engage with, discuss, and make reasoned decisions about mathematical and scientific ideas and information. Therefore, these skills and knowledge should be acquired as early as at school. With our Quarterly Problems, teachers can provide learning opportunities that support the development of responsible citizens.
