Growing vegetables with the lowest possible carbon footprint
Research question: What was the research question? What are the underlaying regional problems?
We wanted to find out how we can grow vegetables with the lowest possible carbon footprint.
Approach: How did you proceed?
Together with a parallel class that had thought about building a raised bed in advance, we thought about which vegetables we could grow. In doing so, we sought the advice of our parents and community experts. With the results, we turned to a nursery to get the plants we needed.
Solution: What are your findings?
With little effort, it is possible to create a rich bed that also produces regionally grown vegetables.
Recommendation: What solutions have you developed for the regional problem(s)?
We were able to share our experiences and results with everyone involved, especially with our families, and have developed expertise in the construction of raised beds.
