Module 13 is offered to prospective teachers before their field exchanges or stays abroad. It aims to prepare them for intercultural teaching experiences by equipping them with necessary knowledge, skills, and values such as reflection and intercultural competencies. Theoretical knowledge will be related to students’ personal experiences and their professional development needs.

About IncluSMe
This module is based on the work within the Erasmus+ project ‘Intercultural learning in mathematics and science initial teacher education’ (IncluSMe). Core to IncluSMe, which ran from 2016-2019, was the design and implementation of open access teaching modules. The project brought together 11 teams of higher education institutions for initial teacher education from across Europe and was lead and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Katja Maaß, International Centre for STEM education, University of Education Freiburg.
A total of 13 modules were developed to be used in higher education settings. Ready to use lecture presentations and accompanying notes for lecturers as well as worksheets for trainee teachers are part of every module.
