1h4teachers in STEM – “Sustainability education for Environmental Citizenship”

Join us for a new online workshop as part of the new 1h4teachers in STEM series, addressing educators eager for fresh teaching ideas and keen on exchanging experiences with fellow teachers. This session, held in English, is titled “Sustainability education for Environmental Citizenship” and is an initiative of the 3C4Life project, co-financed by Erasmus+.

About 3C4Life Project: Running from 2021 to 2024, “Perspectives for Lifelong STEM Teaching – Career Guidance, Collaborative Practice, and Competence Development” aims to enhance the attractiveness of the teaching profession, particularly in STEM, across Europe.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Theoretical Perspective: A short theoretical perspective on sustainability education, including insights from Michiel’s PhD work
  • Practical Lesson Modules: Interactive discussion of the developed lesson modules (freely available in English)
  • Implementation Strategies Strategies: Some final do’s and don’ts in the context of sustainability education

By attending this webinar, participants will gain inspiration for integrating sustainability issues in their teaching in a meaningful way. This includes concrete lesson examples, theoretical insights, and experiences of other educators with this challenging and important theme.

About the Speaker:  Dr. Michiel van Harskamp is a post-doctoral scientist ath Utrecht University  who worked together with a team of six science teachers to design, implement, observe, and evaluate lesson modules, aimed at fostering Environmental Citizenship at lower secondary level.
