In module 5, pre-service teachers are introduced to different perspectives on current ecological problems in the context of intercultural learning. A series of immersion and application tasks on the exemplary and interdisciplinary topic of ‘water’ forms the foundation of the module. Through this, trainee teachers will become familiar with teaching methods that have the potential to connect ecological topics to intercultural learning.

About IncluSMe
This module is based on the work within the Erasmus+ project ‘Intercultural learning in mathematics and science initial teacher education’ (IncluSMe). Core to IncluSMe, which ran from 2016-2019, was the design and implementation of open access teaching modules. The project brought together 11 teams of higher education institutions for initial teacher education from across Europe and was lead and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Katja Maaß, International Centre for STEM education, University of Education Freiburg.
A total of 13 modules were developed to be used in higher education settings. Ready to use lecture presentations and accompanying notes for lecturers as well as worksheets for trainee teachers are part of every module.
